Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Download the Potty Pal app from the App Store, open it, and tap "Sign Up". Enter your email and create a password to get started. You'll receive a verification email to confirm your account.

How do I add a dog?

After creating your account, tap the "+" button on the home screen. Enter your dog's name, breed, age, and other optional information. You can also upload a photo of your furry friend!

How do I invite family members?

Go to your family settings and tap "Invite Member". Enter the email address of the person you want to invite. They'll receive an invitation code to join your family.

Activity Tracking

How do I log an activity?

Tap the "Log Activity" button on your dog's profile or the home screen. Select the activity type (feed, potty, walk, etc.), add optional notes, and tap "Save".

Can I edit or delete past activities?

Yes! Tap on any activity in the history view, then tap "Edit" or "Delete". Changes are synced across all family members' devices.

How do predictions work?

Our smart algorithm learns from your dog's activity patterns. After logging several activities of the same type, you'll start receiving predictions for when the next one is likely to occur. The more data you log, the more accurate the predictions become.

Subscriptions & Billing

How does the free trial work?

New users get 7 days of full access to all features. You can cancel anytime during the trial without being charged. If you don't cancel, your subscription will automatically begin after the trial period.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple App Store account:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap "Subscriptions"
  4. Select "Potty Pal"
  5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. You can request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support directly.

What happens when my subscription expires?

You'll still be able to view your data and log basic activities, but premium features like predictions, notifications, and photo uploads will be disabled. You can resubscribe at any time to regain full access.

Privacy & Security

Is my data secure?

Yes! We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use AWS cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security measures. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

Who can see my dog's information?

Only members of your family can see your dog's profiles and activities. We never share your personal information with third parties without your consent.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from the app settings. This will permanently remove all your data, including dog profiles, activities, and family information. This action cannot be undone.

Notifications

How do I enable notifications?

When you first open the app, you'll be prompted to allow notifications. If you declined, you can enable them later:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Scroll down and tap "Potty Pal"
  3. Tap "Notifications"
  4. Enable "Allow Notifications"

Can I customize which notifications I receive?

Yes! In the app settings, you can choose which types of activities trigger notifications and set quiet hours when you don't want to be disturbed.

Troubleshooting

The app is crashing or not working properly

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of the app
  2. Restart the app
  3. Restart your device
  4. Check your internet connection
  5. If problems persist, contact support

My activities aren't syncing across devices

Ensure you're logged into the same account on all devices and have an active internet connection. Try logging out and back in. If the issue continues, contact support.

I'm not receiving predictions

Predictions require at least 3-5 logged activities of the same type. Make sure you're consistently logging activities and that notifications are enabled.
