Introduction

Welcome to Potty Pal, operated by Kinetic Flux, LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in an open and transparent manner. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services.

Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Name (optional)
• Password (encrypted)

Pet Information

Information about your dogs, including:

• Dog name, breed, sex, age, and weight
• Dog photos (if you choose to upload them)
• Activity logs (feeding times, potty breaks, walks, etc.)
• Notes and observations about your dog

Usage Information

We automatically collect certain information when you use our app:

• Device information (device type, operating system version)
• App version and build number, and which platform you are on
• App usage statistics, such as which features are opened and how often the app is launched
• Crash reports and error logs
• A device identifier we generate ourselves (see below)

This comes from two places. The first is our own analytics, which records app events along with a random identifier created the first time the app runs on your device. That identifier is not your device's advertising ID and not an Android or Apple hardware ID, so it cannot be used to recognise you in other companies' apps. Raw event records are automatically deleted after 90 days. While you are signed in, these events are associated with your account so we can support you and understand how the app is used; before you sign in, they are tied only to that random device identifier.

The second is Google Firebase, which provides our analytics, crash reporting and push notification delivery. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collect app interaction data, diagnostic information about your device and app, crash traces, and Google's own app instance identifier. Firebase Cloud Messaging holds a push token for your device so notifications can be delivered to it. Firebase begins collecting when the app starts, and there is currently no in-app setting to turn it off. Google processes this data as described in its Firebase privacy documentation.

We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photos beyond any dog photo you choose to upload, or the contents of other apps.

Advertising Data

The free version of the app is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. To display ads, Google collects device identifiers and general usage and diagnostic information. We do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, and the app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. Ads are non-personalized. See the "Advertising" section below for details, and Google's Privacy & Terms for how Google processes this data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Create and manage your account
• Track your dog's activities and generate predictions
• Send you notifications about your dog's scheduled activities
• Process subscription payments
• Serve advertising in the free version of the app
• Respond to your support requests
• Analyze app usage to improve features
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Family Sharing

When you invite family members to your account, they will be able to see:

• Dog profiles and information
• Activity logs and history
• Names and emails of other family members

Service Providers

We work with third-party service providers who help us operate our app:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) - Cloud hosting and data storage
• Apple - Payment processing and push notifications
• Google AdMob - Advertising in the free version of the app
• Google Firebase - App analytics, crash reporting, and push notification delivery

Advertising

The free version of Potty Pal is ad-supported. We use Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements. Google receives device identifiers and general usage and diagnostic data in order to serve and measure ads. Because we do not use App Tracking Transparency, ads are non-personalized and are not based on tracking you across other apps or websites. If you subscribe to Potty Pal, advertising is removed and no ad data is shared with Google.

Anonymized and Aggregated Data

We may use anonymized and aggregated pet activity data, with all personally identifiable information removed, to generate insights, analytics, and recommendations that help other dog owners. This data cannot be used to identify you, your family, or your individual pets. Examples of how we may use this data include:

• Breed-specific activity pattern insights
• General feeding and potty schedule benchmarks
• Aggregate trends to improve our prediction algorithms

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Regular security assessments
• Access controls and authentication
• Secure cloud infrastructure (AWS)

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Raw analytics events collected by our own analytics are deleted automatically 90 days after they are recorded, whether or not you delete your account. Data held by Google Firebase is retained according to Google's own retention settings and policies rather than ours.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data
• Opt-out of marketing communications
• Object to certain processing of your data

Notice at Collection for California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) requires us to provide additional information about how we collect, use, and share your personal information.

Categories of Personal Information Collected

• Identifiers: Email address, name, account ID, and device identifiers including the random device identifier we generate, Google's app instance identifier, and a push notification token
• Internet or electronic network activity: App usage and interaction data, device information, app version, crash reports and diagnostic data
• Other personal information: Pet information you voluntarily provide (dog name, breed, activities)

Purpose of Collection

We collect personal information for the business purposes described in the "How We Use Your Information" section above. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your California Rights

Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
• Delete your personal information
• Opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell your data)
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

On our website, we honor Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. When detected, we automatically disable non-essential cookies and analytics tracking. These are browser signals and there is no equivalent in a mobile app, so they do not reach the analytics and crash reporting described under "Usage Information" above. That app data collection currently has no opt-out.

Children's Privacy

Our app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app, or at least 16 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if lower) if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Age eligibility is a condition of our Terms of Service, which you accept when you create an account or continue as a guest.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it and terminate the associated account. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
